Vinous Stephen Tanzer - 01 May 12
Good bright ruby-red. Superripe, almost porty aromas of black cherry, licorice and chocolate. Lush, rich, deep and mouthfilling, with black fruit, licorice and dark chocolate flavors currently clashing with medicinal menthol and herbal notes. The sense of porty (over)ripeness carries through on the palate. This rather exaggerated wine finishes with strong tannins that turned a bit dry with air. Does this have enough energy to go anywhere in bottle?
